How do I know if I am really pregnant in Towson, MD?

If you have missed a period or are experiencing early pregnancy symptoms, it is a good idea to take a pregnancy test. We offer FREE testing as well as ultrasounds that determine if your pregnancy is viable –  an important thing to determine before any procedure can take place.

How can I be sure abortion is the right choice for me?

Every woman’s situation is different. Maybe you are still in school. Maybe you just had a baby and can’t imagine having another child so close in age. Perhaps you work and take care of other children at home. Or maybe you were never planning on being a parent. Becoming pregnant when you were not expecting it brings much uncertainty and stress and so many questions come to mind. Our client advocates are here to listen to your concerns, answer questions and give you the support you need while taking into consideration your unique circumstances.

What’s the difference between the abortion pill and a surgical abortion?

There are two basic types of abortion procedures; the abortion pill, often called “medical abortion” and the surgical abortion. The abortion pill is only available to women who are up to 11 weeks pregnant. The first pill is taken in the abortion clinic and then, you will experience your abortion at home. A surgical abortion is usually performed after 11 weeks of pregnancy. There are two types of surgical abortions; an aspiration abortion using a vacuum or a dilation and evacuation abortion (D & E), using a vacuum and a metal loop shaped tool called a curette. Both take place in a clinic and require time for observation afterwards and recuperation at home.

What steps can I take in helping me with making a decision?

It is always helpful to make a checklist before making a decision. Writing down the pros and cons can help clear up some confusion while you weigh your options, especially because you may feel rushed. Reading about the procedures and risks involved will also help you decide. And, talking with our counselors to sort everything out can really help.

The next step is to take a pregnancy test. A positive test is necessary before undergoing any procedure. Call us or Text us today to schedule your appointment.

If your pregnancy test is positive, you can receive an ultrasound to determine that your pregnancy is viable (has a heartbeat) and is in the uterus, and to determine the gestational age of the baby. This is  an important factor in making your decision. Having all this knowledge will empower you to make the right choice.
